Douglas has a deep passion for theater education. His mission as an educator is to ensure that every student that wants to experience theatre is given the opportunity to learn, the tools they need to succeed, and an outlet to explore the creative and artistic side of their personality. His measure of success for an educational theatre setting is through personal victories for each individual student rather than judging on subjective “good and bad.” Cultivating curiosity and artistry at every age is vital for the continued growth of the theatre industry and community at large. Through youth workshops, community engagement programs and mentoring early career artists, Douglas has seen firsthand how theater can transform lives.
Douglas is a twenty year veteran of theatre education. From running playshops and residencies, directing full length TYA productions and serving as Director of Summer Operations for children’s theatre, he has a passion for all things related to youth theatre.
Douglas is a trained professional with twenty years of experience in the theatre. He is an expert in monologue coaching, audition preparation, Shakespeare scene study and performance. Whether you are a professional actor, just starting out or are simply curious, there is room for everyone. Douglas has worked with students of all ages, from the very young to adults.
